Surcharges
- Weight: if the weight declared is lower than the real weight, a surcharge will be applied. Please take into consideration the volumetric weight, if volumetric weight is higher, Correos will invoice this value. How to calculate volumetric weight: Correos uses the following formula: the length x height x width (in cm) divided by 6.000.
- Postal code: when requesting an address change, if the postcode is changed a surcharge will be applied.
- Zone: if the parcel is declared as a zone 1 (within the same Province) but is actually shipped from a different zone (2 or 3) a surcharge will be applied, accordingly. Example: You declared a Sender address from Madrid and destination address in Madrid, but you deposit the parcel in Barcelona a surcharge for declaring zone 1 but actually shipping from zone 3 will be applied.
- Returned parcels: when a parcel has the wrong/incomplete address or the recipient did not pick it up during the 14-day period at Correos' Office or CityPaq, the parcel is returned to Sender, and this will result in a surcharge.
- Fuel surcharges: subjected to the price of oil at the time.

- Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium National must be submitted in writing within the first 30 days of their intended delivery (lost parcels) in writing, 8 days for shipments to Portugal. After a year all actions derived from the transport contract are rescinded within a year.
- Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium National claims must include the signed pickup report or the 'Carta de porte', as proof the parcel was given to Correos.
- Correos has coverage of shipping costs + 5,98€ per kilo.
- Delivered but not received
- Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium National must be submitted in writing within the first 30 days of their delivery in writing, 8 days for shipments to Portugal. After a year all actions derived from the transport contract are rescinded within a year.
- A signed affidavit from the receiver by the receiver must be provided.
- For parcels delivered at a Service Point cannot apply to this claim.
- Correos has coverage of shipping costs + 5,98€ per kilo.
- Damaged
- Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium National damaged claims must be submitted in writing before 7 natural days have passed since their delivery.
- They must include a document of proof by Correos of damage, the recipient must refuse delivery due to visible damages on the packaging.
- Correos has coverage of shipping costs + 5,98€ per kilo.
- Correos reserves the right to decide if a parcel was correctly packaged to guarantee the contents of the parcel or not. During the admission of the parcel, Correos can advise you to prepare your parcel differently and recommend other packaging services.
- Delayed
- Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium National shipments can also be claimed for reimbursing shipping costs within the first 21 days of its delivery.

This transit time within the territory can add 1-2 additional days. Transit times also exclude customs delays. Additionally, if the parcel is handed to Correos after 14.00 hrs province capitals or 13.00 hrs rest of the country one more transit day needs to be taken into account. Scope of Service
Unless any special services are agreed and subject to these terms, the service to be provided by Correos is limited to the collection, transportation, customs clearance where applicable, and delivery of the
shipment. The sender acknowledges that shipments will be consolidated with those of other shippers for transport and that Correos may not monitor the inbound and outbound movement of individual
shipments at all handling centers.
Required Signature for Paq. Standard and Paq. Premium
Correos may deliver a parcel to the person whose name is on the label or any other person that seems to be authorized to accept the parcel on behalf of the recipient (such as people in the same building or their neighbors). If the recipient cannot be located, the parcel might be placed at the mailbox or, if it is considered appropriate, delivered to the recipient's neighbor. The recipient will be informed of any alternative delivery (or the Correos Office or CityPaq address) via a note left on their establishment or home.
Like every carrier, Correos has prepared a document about their General Transport Conditions. If you deviate from the conditions, a surcharge will be charged on your invoice afterward. When you send with Correos, you automatically agree to the following conditions:
