Purpose: in this article, you can find DPD shipping conditions. These are rules set by DPD for sending post and parcels. Some goods and substances may not be sent abroad. Keep in mind the international rules. This prevents customs from seizing or destroying your post.
Consumer and Business delivery
DPD Shop2Home
You can select DPD Shop2Home when you want to drop-off the parcel at a service point and have it delivered at your customer's house. See list of destinations below*. When a DPD Shop2Home method is used in combination with a pickup, you'll be charged 1 EUR on top of the shipping price.
Shipping method features:
- Delivery from Monday to Friday
- Including signature on delivery
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- One delivery attempt. The shipment will then be delivered to a service point and the customer has 7 days to collect the shipment.
- Drop-off at one of DPD's service points

- Maximum dimensions: 100 x 50 x 50 cm
- Maximum belt circumference 250 cm (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH)
- Maximum weight 20kg

DPD Home (Combined with a fixed pick-up)
Service Presentation
With DPD Home you can schedule a fixed collection for free. This is possible from a monthly volume of 100 shipments. From 300 shipments per month, it is also possible to attach a time frame to the collection. The packages will be delivered to your customers' places worldwide using this shipping method.
NOTE: If you create DPD home label on Friday, Saturday delivery will be included as standard. If you do not want this, you can select DPD Classic. If this method is not active in your account, you can contact our Customer Service department.

- Free pick-up
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Including signature on delivery
- One delivery attempt. The shipment will then be delivered to a service point and the customer has 7 days to collect the shipment.
Characteristics of the parcel:
- Maximum belt circumference: 300 cm (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH)
- Maximum length: 130 cm
- Maximum weight 20KG
DPD Home Klein pakket
This shipping method is not activated by default. If you are interested in this method, please contact Customer Support or reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
Service Presentation
The DPD Home Klein Pakket shipping method is similar to the standard DPD Home service, with the key difference being the parcel's size. As the name suggests, this method is designed specifically for smaller shipments. If you're sending a compact parcel, DPD Home Klein Pakket offers a more cost-effective option.
Shipping method features:
- Delivery from Monday to Friday
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Including signature on delivery
- One delivery attempt. The shipment will then be delivered to a service point and the customer has 7 days to collect the shipment.
Characteristics of the parcel:
- Maximum length: 50 cm
- Maximum belt circumference (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH): 111 cm
- Maximum weight: 3 kg
DPD Classic (Hand-in at a service point)
Service Presentation
The packages will be delivered to your customers' business worldwide using this shipping method. The advantage of DPD Classic is that packages are only delivered during business hours. This ensures that the delivery driver does not stop by when the business is closed.
Shipping method features:
- Free pick-up
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Recipient's signature or company stamp on delivery
- Three delivery attempts
- Delivery during business hours Monday - Friday

- Maximum length: 100 cm
- Maximum weight 20KG
DPD Classic (Combined with a fixed pick-up)
Service Presentation
This is a B2B shipping method for deliveries at businesses. The advantage of DPD Classic is that packages are delivered only during business hours. This ensures that the delivery driver does not stop by when the business is closed.
With DPD Classic you can schedule a fixed collection for free. This is possible from a monthly volume of 100 shipments. From 300 shipments per month, it is also possible to attach a time frame to the collection. The packages will be delivered to your customers' business worldwide using this shipping method.

- Recipient's signature or company stamp on delivery
- Three delivery attempts
- Delivery during business hours Monday - Friday

- Maximum weight 31.5KG
DPD Home/DPD Classic Age Check
As of 1 July 2021, the new Alcohol Act is in force in the Netherlands. Companies which sell alcohol online must ensure they use a shipping method which required that the recipient is 18 years of age or older. In order to receive the package, they must verify their identify via a valid means of identification (passport, driver's license or ID card).
- Age check: 18
- Home: delivery from Monday to Saturday
- Classic: delivery from Monday to Friday
- This Service is limited to destinations within the Netherlands (with the exception of the Wadden Islands)
- Available for shipments sent via DPD Home (B2C) or DPD Classic (B2B)
- The driver will check the age of the recipient before handing over the parcel.
- The recipient must be able to show a valid ID at the door
- For this reason, delivery to neighbour or to an alternate address is not possible by law
- If the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the parcel will be rerouted back to a distribution center and a second attempt will be made
- If you use the DPD Predict service, the customer will receive a message informing them that an age check is required the evening before the delivery, and also in the morning on the day delivery will take place.

DPD Express (Time definite delivery)
Service Presentation
You can select DPD Express if you want your shipments to be delivered within the Netherlands before 12:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. on the following working day.
PAY ATTENTION! These labels must be created before 10 a.m. in the morning. Special 'Express tape' is required for this method. Contact DPD directly to request this special tape.
Shipping method features:
- Delivery within the Netherlands before 12:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
- Special free 'Express tape' is required for this method. The shipment may simply be packed with this tape, but it must be clearly visible on the shipment.
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Including signature on delivery
- One delivery attempt before the agreed time, in the event of a failed attempt, the shipment will be delivered one working day later. After that, the shipment will be delivered to a depot and the customer has 7 days to collect the shipment here.

- Maximum length 175 cm
- Maximum weight 31,5KG
Shipping to service points
DPD Pick-up point
Service Presentation
With this shipping method, you can have your shipments delivered to a DPD service point so that your customers can pick up the package themselves. You can hand these packages in at a service point, but you can also give them with your fixed collection.

- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Including signature on delivery
- One delivery attempt at the service point. The shipment will then be delivered to a service point and the customer has 7 days to collect the shipment.

- Maximum belt circumference 300 cm (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH)
- Maximum length 100 cm
- Maximum weight 20KG
DPD Shop2Shop
You can select DPD Shop2Home when you want to drop-off the parcel at a service point and have it delivered at service point of your customer's choice. This shipping method is available for shipments to The Netherlands and Belgium. When a DPD Shop2Shop method is used in combination with a pickup, you'll be charged 1 EUR on top of the shipping price.

- Delivery from Monday to Friday
- Including insurance up to € 520 within Europe
- Drop-off at one of DPD's service points
Characteristics of the parcel (0 -3kg):
- Maximum dimensions: 50 x 50 x 50 cm
- Maximum belt circumference 100 cm (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH)
- Maximum weight 3kg
Characteristics of the parcel (3 -20kg):
- Maximum dimensions: 100 x 50 x 50 cm
- Maximum belt circumference 250 cm (1 xL + 2xB + 2xH)
- Maximum weight 20kg
Dropping off parcels at a DPD Pickup parcel shop
You can find the nearest available parcelshop to drop your packages off for delivery using the DPD Parcelshop Location Finder.
The maximum dimensions of parcels accepted at a parcel shop are as follows*:
- Maximum length: 100cm
- Maximum width/length: 50cm
- Maximum girth (1xL + 2xW + 2xH to a max of 100cm): 250cm
- Maximum weight: 20kg
*Unless the shipping method states otherwise.
DPD pickups
Request a fixed pickup
With DPD Home you can schedule a fixed collection for free. This is possible from a monthly volume of 100 shipments. From 300 shipments per month, it is also possible to attach a time frame to the collection. The packages will be delivered to your customers' places worldwide using this shipping method.

Pallet registration
If your shipments are transported via Europallets, you can request DPD to return these pallets at a later time. This request can be done after a total of 30 pallets has been handed over to DPD; they won't process any smaller requests. After the request has been made, DPD has 3 weeks to make sure the pallets are returned. They can return pallets to you once every 2 weeks at most and you can request your pallets up to 3 months. You're personally responsible to keep track of the pallet saldo.
If you want to use this service, please reach out to DPD or our support team for the pallet registration document. You can use this document to keep track of the pallet saldo. Whenever you want to request your pallets to be returned (min. 30 pallets), you can send this document to centralplanning@dpd.nl.
Note: DPD takes 6% dropout into account.
Claim procedure
Insured shipments
All of DPD's methods are insured as standard (up to 520 euros). A claim for these types of shipments can be submitted via the Sendcloud panel (based on purchase value). Click on the concerning shipment, then click on the bottom right to request help > submit a claim for a lost/damaged shipment. If the purchase value is not known, a reimbursement will be given based on 50% of the sales value.
This way the correct documents are collected and the claim file will be complete so the carrier can process a claim in the quickest way. If you have to fill in a field that is not available to you (for example if you do not have a purchase invoice), you can also upload a word file with an explanation.

- Earthenware and similar products prone to breakage
- Ceramics
- Stone
- Plants
- Hard plastic
- Sugar or chocolate ware
- Cast iron objects
- Buckets
- Cans and jerry cans with oil
- Works of art
- Jewellery (including watches)
- Precious metals
- Gemstones
- Real pearls
- Porcelain
- Antiques
- Carpet
- Furs and other valuables
- Liquid substances of any kind

Remote and excluded areas
When shipping to Sweden, keep in mind that the following zipcodes are excluded. If you try to ship to one of these destinations anyway, the system will most likely return an error. See Postcodelijst uitgesloten gebieden Zweden for a list of zipcodes.
For a list of remote areas we refer you to the Remote areas list of DPD. Keep in mind that shipping to one of these areas will lead to a surcharge.
