This shipping product is ideal for sending less urgent shipments of goods, letterbox packages and documents to destinations within Italy. 

Shipping method characteristics: 

• Standard delivery to the recipient's address
• Shipments to and from Italy within 4 working days
• Live map tracking and real time updates
• 2 delivery attempts
• If the customer is not home for second delivery attempt, the parcel is stored at the nearest post office up to 7 days. If the shipment is not collected within the 7 days, it will be returned to sender. The costs associated with the return are the responsibility of the sender. 
• Post offices are available on Saturdays
• Recipient can reschedule 
• Choose from various basic ancillary services to offer your recipient an effective, personalized and quality delivery: Choose You, On Appointment, Al Vicino, Al Piano via MyPosteDeliveryBusiness portal.

The carrier only supports Saturday delivery for some postal codes. Download the list of supported post codes.

We recommend you to set up your checkout page accordingly so that end customers do not get the option to choose Saturday delivery if they live in a location that is not supported by the carrier.

Claims

National shipments

National shipments have a standard coverage of €1.00 per kg (tax not included) in case of loss, damage, or delivered but not received.

Poste Italiane calculates the refund amount on the grams, they do not round up the kilos. Example: If parcel is 500 grs, the refund amount would be:

• • 0.50 kg x €1 = €0.50

International shipments

International shipments have the following coverage in case of loss, damage or if they are delivered but not received: 

• Road: 8.33 SDR* (CMR) = €10.25 per kilo
• Air: 17 SDR (Warsaw Convention) = €20.91 per kilo

Poste Italiane calculates the refund amount on the grams, they do not round up the kilos. Example: If parcel is 500 grs, the refund amount would be:

• 0.50 kg x €10.25 = €5.13
• 0.50 kg x €20.91 = €10.46

*1 SDR = €1.23 (2021 conversion rate)
