Power of Attorney (POA)
When shipping to a country outside the EU, DPD requires a POA (Power of Attorney). Without this authorization, DPD cannot declare your shipment to customs, which may result in the package being returned to the sender. For more details on shipping parcels with DPD outside the EU, click here.
Follow these steps to submit the POA correctly:
- Download the POA form.
- Fill out the form completely. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
- Initial every page of the form.
- Include a recent extract from the Chamber of Commerce.
Send the completed documents to our Customer Support team and include "POA" in the subject line of your message.

Claim procedure
Insured shipments
All of DPD's shipping methods have standard insurance. For domestic shipments the insurance goes up to €320 and for international shipments up to €520. A claim for these types of shipments can be submitted via the Sendcloud panel (based on purchase value). You can either start the claim from your shipment in the Created labels/Shipped overview, or you can start the claim via the Support section of your Sendcloud account. If the purchase value is not known, a reimbursement will be given based on 50% of the sales value.
Please note, the following products are excluded from DPD damage claims:
-
Jewellery, gemstones, precious metals, real pearls
-
Valuables (coins, banknotes, bearer bonds, similar items)
-
Payment methods (credit cards, uncrossed cheques, etc.)
-
Works of art, antiques, unique items
-
Publications or audiovisual media banned by law
-
Alcohol (excluding alcoholic drinks)
-
Perishable or frozen food (unless sent via DPD Fresh)
-
Flowers and plants
-
Animals, dead or alive
-
Narcotics or prohibited substances
-
Firearms and explosives
-
Official documents, unique papers, passports
-
Furs, carpets, wristwatches, pocket watches
-
Goods worth over €13,000 per parcel
-
Prescription medication and injection needles
-
Bidding documents, contracts, test results, similar paperwork
This way the correct documents are collected and the claim file will be complete so the carrier can process a claim in the quickest way. If you have to fill in a field that is not available to you (for example if you do not have a purchase invoice), you can also upload a Word file with an explanation.
