Purpose: This article introduces the Products feature, showing you how to upload and manage product data to improve warehouse efficiency and how it interacts with other settings.
What is the Products feature
The Products feature is designed to give you direct control over essential data for your SKUs in Sendcloud. With a simple CSV upload, you can add details like warehouse location and customs information.
During this Beta phase, you can:
- Set Item Location for each SKU, allowing pickers to find items faster and plan routes efficiently within the warehouse.
- Add EAN Codes for each SKU, enabling item scanning if your shop does not support it. Learn more about item scanning here.
- Complete or override Products data coming from your webshop when the information is missing or you want to change it
Why Item Location Matters: By uploading item locations, you can access these details in picking lists, helping pickers locate items quickly, reduce movement across the warehouse, and organize picking routes by location, ultimately enhancing productivity and reducing search times.
How to Add and Set Up Your Products
- Navigate to Settings > Products and click Get Started.
-
Download the CSV Template: This file contains columns for SKU, Item Location, and additional fields for customs (to be enabled later).
- Fill in Product Information: Each product should be identified by a unique SKU. Only Item Location will be used in this Beta release.
-

FAQ
What is Integration Data?
Integration Data is the initial product information imported from your shop’s integration. It serves as the base layer for all product data in Sendcloud.
How do Products interact with your Integration?
Any updates you make through the Products feature will override the Integration Data. This allows you to adjust product information directly in Sendcloud, providing more control over specific SKU details.
How do Shipping Rules interact with Products?
Shipping rules can be applied to individual products and will take priority over the details you’ve set in the Products feature or imported from your shop’s integration. This means any shipping rule you set will be used first, above other product data.
What role do Manual Modifications play in data priority?
Manual modifications made directly to an order in Sendcloud have the highest level of control and will override all other data layers, including Integration Data, Products Data, and Shipping Rules.
What currency is used for customs values in Products?
The item value is automatically set to your account's currency, which is also the currency displayed on customs documents. Therefore, it is not possible to change this currency.
I encountered an error: "Field format not valid" when uploading my products. What should I do?
This error means the uploaded file doesn’t meet the required format. To fix this, check the data in your CSV file and ensure it matches the format guidelines provided in the template. Pay attention to these common requirements:
- SKUs must not exceed 75 characters
- EAN codes should be written without any spaces between digits
