GLS National Express
Shipping method characteristics:
- Express delivery service from Monday-Friday (excl. public holidays)
- Home delivery within Italy
- B2B and B2C
Parcel dimensions:
- Maximum length: 200 cm
- Maximum width: 150 cm
- Maximum height: 130 cm
- Maximum weight: 100 kg
- Maximum total size: 500 cm
GLS National Express FlexDeliveryService
Same characteristics and parcel dimensions as GLS National Express, with one advantage: the end customer is constantly updated on the progress of their shipment and can decide how and where they want their parcel to be delivered.
In case the parcel is scheduled to arrive at the wrong time, the recipient can choose an alternative delivery option, both before and after the first failed delivery attempt. This service includes the possibility of selecting a new delivery date or arranging the delivery to a GLS ParcelShop.
GLS National Express - ShopDeliveryService
Shipping Method Features:
- Express delivery service from Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).
- Delivery to GLS ParcelShops (updated list available).
- Shipment remains available for pickup at the ParcelShop for 10 days. After 10 days, a dossier will be opened (check for possible surcharges). GLS will send a reminder email after 5 days of arrival at the ParcelShop.
- Single parcel shipment.
- B2C.
Package Dimensions: - Maximum side length: 100 cm.
- Maximum actual weight: 20 kg.
- Maximum volumetric weight: 100 kg (coefficient 1:300).
National return methods
GLS National Express Return - Pick&Return Service
Shipping method characteristics:
- Only available for Sendcloud Premium users
- Only within Italy
- From Monday-Friday (excl. public holidays)
- Home delivery (at the merchant's return address)
- To return the parcel, a pickup will be scheduled at the end customer's address
The pickup occurs the day after the return is created.
- The end customer has 60 days from the date of the outbound shipment to make a return

Pickups
Incidental pickups
You can schedule an incidental pickup with GLS Italy directly from your Sendcloud panel. For more information on requesting an occasional pickup, read our article How can I request a parcel pickup?
Recurring pickups
Pickups for outgoing shipments are mandatory. Pickups take generally place in the afternoon, from 13:00 to 18:00 but this is subject to the availability of the carrier and depends on the local depot. If the pickup attempt fails, it will automatically be rescheduled for either the same evening or the next day in the morning.
To activate recurring pickups, fill in the necessary details when completing the activation request form. See the section on How to activate GLS Italy and ship with Sendcloud rates. Keep in mind that it will take GLS Italy up to 4 days to set up the collection for you once you request to ship with this carrier.
Claims
National shipments have a standard coverage of €1.00 per kg (excl. taxes) in case of loss, damage, or delivered but not received.
If you ship with Sendcloud's rates, Sendcloud will be the intermediary between you and GLS Italy. This means that in case of an incident with one of your parcels, we invite you to open a claim directly from the Support panel in your Sendcloud account. Failure to comply with the agreed terms and conditions of GLS Italy may result in you receiving a surcharge. When you ship with GLS Italy, you automatically agree to these conditions.
