Purpose: This article will explain how to use the Sendcloud Table Rate shipping method.

What are Table Rates?

Magento 2 Shipping table rates allow shop owners to create an unlimited number of flexible shipping methods with individual rates. You can also make use of this within the Sendcloud panel. By using combinations of location, cart weight, order subtotal, and price, it can provide you with an accurate shipping option which helps the shopping process go much faster.

Before reading this document, you are expected to have knowledge of the following:
  • Activation of the Sendcloud module
  • Service points are enabled in the Sendcloud panel

The Table Rate shipping method refers to a table of data to calculate shipping costs based on a combination of conditions, including:

  • Weight vs. Destination
  • Price vs. Destination
  • Number of Items vs. Destination

This table rate works independently of the standard table rate in Magento 2 and can therefore be used side by side. The prices for the table rate can only be imported via a CSV file. This file can be created with Excel and looks like this:

The above example is used with Price versus Destination. If you want to know the structure of all three conditions, you can export them.

Note: The imported prices are always excluding VAT.

Export

  • Go to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Delivery methods > Sendcloud Service point
  • Change the condition Fixed fee shipping price
  • Then select a website in the scope on the top left corner
  • At Condition, select the condition you want to export and then click Export Sendcloud CSV.
  • You now get an empty CSV file or the last set table rate with the column names in the first row.

After you have modified the CSV file, you can import this file again and do as follows:

Import

  • Go to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Delivery Methods > Sendcloud Service point
  • Then select a website in the scope on the top left corner
  • At Condition, select the condition you want to import and then click Choose file.
  • Select your CSV file and click Save Config.

Turning off the table rate is as follows:

  • Go to Stores > Configuration > Sales > Shipping Methods > Sendcloud Service point
  • Then select a website in the scope on the top left corner
  • Select the following value at Condition: Fixed fee shipping price
  • After saving with Save Config, the Sendcloud service point uses the price under Price again as a fixed price as shipping costs.
