Connect Sendcloud to Claude with MCP

Purpose: Learn what the Sendcloud MCP is, what you can do with it, and how to connect your Sendcloud account to Claude.

What is the Sendcloud MCP?

The Sendcloud Model Context Protocol (MCP) connects your Sendcloud account to compatible AI assistants, allowing you to interact with your shipping data and perform supported shipping tasks using natural language.

Instead of switching between your AI assistant and Sendcloud, you can ask the assistant to retrieve information from your account or perform supported actions for you.

With the Sendcloud MCP, you can:

  • View and manage orders
  • Create shipping labels
  • Track parcels
  • Compare available shipping options
  • Find service points
  • Manage returns
  • View and create shipping rules
Currently available with Claude: The Sendcloud MCP is currently publicly available through Claude. Support for additional AI assistants is planned. We'll update this article as more connections become available.

Once your Sendcloud account is connected, you can make requests using natural language. For example:

  • "Show me my orders from this week."
  • "Where is this parcel right now?"
  • "What shipping options are available for this order?"
  • "Find the closest service point for this shipment."
  • "Create a shipping rule for orders over 2 kg."

Depending on your request, Claude can retrieve information from Sendcloud or ask you to confirm an action before performing it.

💡 Good to know: The Sendcloud MCP interacts with supported Sendcloud APIs and information from your connected account. Claude may also answer general questions about Sendcloud using its own capabilities or publicly available information, such as the Sendcloud Help Center. This is separate from the Sendcloud MCP.

Before you connect

To use the Sendcloud MCP, you need:

  • An existing Sendcloud account
  • Access to Claude
  • The appropriate permissions in your Sendcloud account for the actions you want to perform

You don't need to create a separate Sendcloud API integration to use the MCP.

Important: Connecting Sendcloud to an AI assistant lets the assistant perform actions in your Sendcloud account. Always review the information Claude shows before confirming an action, especially when the action creates, changes, or removes information from your account.

Connect Sendcloud to Claude

You can connect your Sendcloud account directly from Claude's connector directory.

  1. Log in to Claude.
  2. Go to the bottom left, click on your name, then open Settings.
  3. Select Connectors.
  4. Search for Sendcloud.
  5. Select Sendcloud and click Connect.
  6. Follow the authorization steps shown on screen to connect your Sendcloud account.
  7. Review the requested permissions and grant access to complete the connection.

Once the connection is complete, you can start asking Claude to interact with your Sendcloud account.

Tip: You can manage the permissions granted to Sendcloud through your Claude connection settings. If Claude needs permission to perform an action that you haven't previously allowed, it may ask you for permission directly in the conversation.

Start using Sendcloud in Claude

Once your account is connected, you can describe what you want to do in natural language. You don't need to use specific commands.

View your orders

Ask Claude to retrieve information about orders in your Sendcloud account.

Example: "Show me my orders from this week."

Claude can retrieve the relevant order information and present the results directly in the conversation.

Check a shipment

Ask Claude for available information about one of your shipments.

Example: "Where is this parcel right now?"

Claude can retrieve available shipment information and present the current status.

Compare shipping options

You can ask Claude to retrieve and compare available shipping options.

Example: "What shipping options are available for this order?"

Claude can use the available Sendcloud data to show you the applicable shipping options.

Find a service point

You can ask Claude to find available service points for a shipment.

Example: "Find the closest service point for this shipment."

Claude can use the Sendcloud MCP to retrieve available service points.

Create a shipping label

You can ask Claude to create a shipping label for an order.

Example: "Create a shipping label for order #10482."

Claude may ask you for additional information or confirmation before completing the action.

Create a shipping rule

You can describe the shipping rule you want to create using natural language.

Example: "Create a shipping rule that uses DHL Express for orders over 2 kg."

Claude can interpret your request and may ask you to confirm the rule before creating it in your Sendcloud account.

💡 Tip: Be specific in your prompts. Include relevant information such as the order number, parcel details, destination, or conditions you want to apply. Claude can ask follow-up questions if more information is required.

Permissions and confirmations

The Sendcloud MCP uses your connected Sendcloud account to access available information and perform actions.

Depending on your permissions and the action you're requesting, Claude may ask you to approve an action before continuing.

Important: Read confirmation messages carefully before approving them. Some MCP actions can create, change, or remove information or settings in your Sendcloud account.

If you don't grant the required permission, Claude won't be able to perform the corresponding action through the MCP.

FAQ

Do I need to create an API integration?

No. You don't need to manually create an API integration in your Sendcloud account to use the MCP.

Does the Sendcloud MCP cost extra?

Currently, there is no additional Sendcloud fee for using the MCP.

Please note: The Sendcloud MCP is a new feature, and its availability, supported capabilities, and usage conditions may evolve as we continue developing it.
Can I use the Sendcloud MCP with ChatGPT?

Currently, the public Sendcloud connection is available through Claude. Support for other AI assistants is planned.

Can Claude answer general questions about Sendcloud?

Claude may be able to answer general questions using its own capabilities or publicly available information, such as content from the Sendcloud Help Center.

This is separate from the Sendcloud MCP. The MCP specifically enables Claude to interact with supported Sendcloud APIs and information from your connected Sendcloud account.

What can I ask Claude to do with Sendcloud?

You can use natural language to ask Claude to perform supported shipping tasks, such as retrieving orders, checking shipments, comparing shipping options, finding service points, creating labels, managing returns, and working with shipping rules.

The available capabilities may change as the Sendcloud MCP continues to develop.

Will Claude ask me before making changes to my Sendcloud account?

Depending on the action and the permissions you've granted, Claude may ask you to confirm an action before performing it.

Always review the information shown by Claude before approving an action that creates, changes, or removes information in your Sendcloud account.

What should I do if something doesn't work?

If Claude can't complete a Sendcloud action through the MCP, check that:

  • Your Sendcloud account is still connected to Claude.
  • Claude has the necessary permissions.
  • The requested action is supported by the Sendcloud MCP.
  • You've provided all the information required to complete the request.
