Purpose: In this article, we explain the surcharges that InPost ES may apply if you do not follow their shipping requirements.
Please note: The carrier may change the shipping prices and/or surcharges mentioned below, therefore these prices may be subject to change. Even though we aim to inform you to the best of our abilities, no rights can be derived from the information provided below.
🇪🇸 Domestic services
Home Delivery
Provincial capitals delivery surcharge – 50% of the quoted rate
A surcharge of 50% of the quoted shipping rate applies to deliveries made to provincial capitals.
Other locations delivery surcharge – 50% of the quoted rate + €0.45/km
A surcharge of 50% of the quoted shipping rate applies to deliveries made outside provincial capitals.
In addition, a mileage fee of €0.45 per km (round trip) will be charged.
Non-standard parcel surcharge – €30 per parcel
A surcharge of €30 per parcel applies when the shipment is considered non-standard by the carrier.
Incorrect size declaration fee – €3 per parcel
If the parcel dimensions declared at the time of shipment are incorrect, the carrier may apply a surcharge of €3 per parcel.
Manual Processing Surcharge – Price correction + €15
If InPost ES detects an incorrect weight declaration based on their controlled weighing equipment, they may apply a manual processing surcharge.
The charge consists of the tariff difference plus an €15 administrative processing cost (including taxes).
Administrative fee for address correction – €2 per label
If the delivery address is incorrect and needs to be corrected, an additional administrative fee of €2 per label applies.
Once the issue is resolved, the second delivery attempt is billed at the standard rate.
Return to sender – Price of a standard shipment
If a parcel cannot be delivered and must be returned to the sender, the return is charged at the cost of a standard shipment.
Possible return reasons:
- Delivery failed repeatedly.
- The recipient was unknown or unavailable.
- The delivery address was incorrect.
- The goods were refused.
- The parcel remained uncollected for 7 calendar days at the destination branch or locker.
Pickup not ready fee – €10
If the goods are not ready at the scheduled pickup time, the carrier may apply a fee of €10.
Low pickup volume fee – €10
If the shipment volume available for pickup is less than 50% of the daily agreed volume, a fee of €10 may be charged.
Failed pickup penalty – €3.50
If a requested pickup cannot be completed due to reasons outside of the carrier's control, a penalty fee of €3.50 may apply.
Examples include:
- Recipient absent
- Goods not ready
- Incorrect address
Standard pickup surcharge – from €2.00
For standard pickups from any address to the regular delivery point, an additional fee applies:
- €2.00 extra for shipments up to 5 kg
- €0.15 per additional kg above 5 kg
Cross-pickup surcharge – from €3.50
For cross-pickups from any address to any address other than the regular point, an additional fee applies:
- €3.50 for shipments up to 5 kg
- €0.30 per additional kg above 5 kg
Shipment from store surcharge – €3.50
A surcharge of €3.50 applies to pickups consisting of fewer than 50 shipments.
Unreadable or missing label – €1.00 per label
If the label is unreadable or missing, the carrier may apply a surcharge of €1.00 per label.
Relabeling attributable to the sender – €1.00 per label
If relabeling is required due to an issue attributable to the sender, a surcharge of €1.00 per label may apply.
Shipments without a valid phone number – €1 per shipment
If a shipment is created without a valid phone number for the recipient, the carrier may apply a surcharge of €1 per shipment.
ECO Contribution – €0.04 per parcel
An ECO Contribution fee of €0.04 per parcel (excluding VAT) applies to support social responsibility and environmental initiatives.
Consumables – €0.18 per unit
Plastic bags and packaging materials are available upon request for €0.18 per unit.
Baleares Surcharge – €3
A surcharge of €3 applies to parcels shipped to the Balearic Islands.
Customs handling fees – from €20.00
Shipments to or from certain destinations require special customs handling (DUA).
Applicable fees:
- Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla: €20.00
- Gibraltar: €30.00
- Andorra: fee based on the declared value
Duties and taxes may be billed to the regular client or collected from the recipient upon delivery.
Service Point Delivery
Return to sender
If a parcel is not collected or is rejected, it is returned to the customer at the original or nearest drop-off Punto Pack or Locker.
Please note that this may incur additional charges, which are non-refundable.
Collection from Service Expertise – At the customer’s expense
After the retention period, uncollected parcels may be sent to Mondial Relay's Service Expertise in France.
The parcel remains available there for 14 business days, and collection is at the customer’s expense.
🌍 International services
Home Delivery
Return to sender
If a parcel cannot be delivered, is rejected, or is not collected within the retention period, it may be returned to the customer.
Please note that this may incur additional charges, which are non-refundable.
Service Point Delivery
Return to sender
If a parcel is not collected or is rejected, it is returned to the customer at the original or nearest drop-off Punto Pack or Locker.

Collection from Service Expertise – At the customer’s expense
After the retention period, uncollected parcels may be sent to Mondial Relay's Service Expertise in France.
The parcel remains available there for 14 business days, and collection is at the customer’s expense.
Surcharge to/from Sicily and Sardinia – +10% of the base shipping cost
Parcels shipped to or from Sicily and Sardinia are subject to an additional surcharge of 10% on the base shipping cost.
Special notes
- No refund for non-conformity: If a parcel is non-compliant, for example due to incorrect dimensions, packaging, or weight, no refund can be made once the carrier has already processed the shipment.
- Undeliverable parcels: Any parcel that cannot be sent to its final destination may incur additional charges. These charges are non-refundable.
- Fuel, energy, peak, and SMS surcharges: These surcharges are not applied under the agreement referenced in the Jira for the new Home Delivery service.
Where can I see these surcharges on my invoice?
Surcharges are applied by the carrier after the shipment has been processed and may not be visible when you create the label.
You can find these charges in your Sendcloud account via Account > Billing, where you can download your invoice in PDF or CSV format:
- PDF invoice: Shows a summary of your total costs, including surcharges.
- CSV invoice: Shows a detailed breakdown per shipment, including the tracking number, shipping cost, and any applied surcharges.
💡 Tip: Use the tracking number in the CSV to identify which shipment a surcharge applies to.
