*When you ship a parcel outside the EU, using a DAP shipping method, the import costs are for the receiver. However, the handling fee shown in the table above is a fee from the carrier, charged separately from the import costs. This will be charged to you instead of the receiver.
Explanation for the surcharge for oversize and overweight
This surcharge is applied when the package is heavier than the maximum weight or larger than the maximum dimensions. These criteria are described in DPD's shipping terms and conditions. If a parcel is too heavy or too large it must be taken off the automatic sorting belt and processed manually. This results in surcharges.
When shipping overseas you must also consider the volume weight of the package. If the L x W x H / 5000 exceeds 31.5kg you can also expect this surcharge.
Dimensions
- Longer than 175cm in length
- Above 31.5kg weight
- Belt circumference greater than 300cm (1x length + 2x width + 2x height).
How can I avoid this surcharge?
To avoid this surcharge, we recommend staying well below the maximum weight and within the maximum dimensions. Packages are measured and weighed with specially calibrated equipment, but measurement differences can always occur. Always allow yourself some extra space to ensure that the dimensions are not exceeded. DPD recommends staying 15 cm below the maximum belt size. Winebox
If you ship wine via our conditions with DPD AT, you can order wine boxes via DPD AT. The following surcharges will be charged:

Please note that this surcharge will only be charged for shipments from Austria to Germany. For the order, a customer number is necessary. If you do not have one yet, please contact our support, we will gladly ask for the activation at DPD AT.
The following fee will be charged:
0 - 10 kg = 1,49€
10 - 31.5 kg = 4,99€
Fuel surcharge
A fuel surcharge is an additional fee that helps cover fluctuations in fuel costs. Since fuel prices can vary significantly over time, carriers like DPD apply this surcharge to help offset the rising costs of transportation.
At Sendcloud, we’ve absorbed these costs for as long as possible, but due to the ongoing economic and political climate, fuel prices have remained consistently high. To ensure continued service and operational stability, a temporary fuel surcharge has been introduced for DPD shipments.
How do we calculate this surcharge?
Per 1% over the 3% fuel surcharge an amount of 0.04 EUR/parcel will be charged.
Example: If the DPD fuel surcharge is 6.5%, then a surcharge of 0.14 EUR (3.5 x 0.04 EUR) will apply.
Important information about shipments to UK:
It is important that the required export documents are clearly visible on the outside of the shipment for shipments to the UK. In addition, DPD charges a surcharge of €7.55 for these shipments.

Parcel pickup
Please note: If there are two different pickup addresses saved in a Sendcloud account, DPD AT will charge a €15.20 fee for each address. Single package pickups are €3.20 / €4.70 for two package pickups. Here are some examples to help clarify:
- You ship more than 39 packages a month but give the driver only 1 package. The service fee won’t apply, but the single pickup fee will. You’ll be charged €3.20.
- You ship fewer than 39 packages a month but give the driver 3 packages for pickup. The service fee applies, but the single pickup fee won’t. You’ll be charged €15.20.
- You ship fewer than 39 packages a month and give the driver only 1 package for pickup. Both the service fee and the single pickup fee apply. You’ll be charged €15.20 + €3.20.
- You ship fewer than 39 packages a month and give the driver only 2 packages for pickup. Both the service fee and the single pickup fee apply. You’ll be charged €15.20 + €4.60.
The creation of a customer number for pickups is only possible if you ship 60 packages a month or more. To create the customer number with DPD AT Schachinger, please contact our support team.
