Purpose: The following surcharges and services apply to FedEx international and domestic services as described in the FedEx documentation.
You can calculate the volumetric weight as follows:
Length × Height × Width (in cm) ÷ 5.000
Additional Handling Surcharges
Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension (€35.20/package)
A surcharge applies per package or piece that:
- measures greater than 121 centimetres along its longest side;
- measures greater than 76 centimetres along its second-longest side; or
- measures greater than 266 centimetres in length and girth. Length and girth are length plus (two times the height) plus (two times the width).
Sales price: €35.20/package.
Additional Handling Surcharge – Packaging (€25.20/package)
A surcharge applies per package or piece that:
- is not fully enclosed in an outer shipping container or packaging;
- is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging not made of corrugated fibreboard (cardboard) materials, including but not limited to metal, wood, canvas, leather, hard plastic, soft plastic, or expanded polystyrene foam (e.g., Styrofoam);
- is encased in an outer shipping container or packaging covered in shrink wrap or stretch wrap;
- is round or cylindrical, including, without limitation, mailing tubes, cans, buckets, barrels, tires, drums, or pails;
- is bound with metal, plastic, or cloth banding, or has wheels (e.g., a bicycle), casters, handles, or straps, including packages where the outer surface area is loosely wrapped, or where the contents protrude outside the surface area;
- could become entangled in, or cause damage to, other packages or the FedEx sortation system.

Additional Handling Surcharge – Weight (€36.20/package)
A surcharge applies per package or piece that has an actual weight greater than 31kg.
Package shape and dimensions may change during transit, which can affect the package’s dimensional weight and surcharge eligibility. If the package shape and dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate adjustments to the charges at any time.
This surcharge applies per piece, even if multiple pieces are bundled in a shipment. If a non-standard package is eligible for two or all three Additional Handling Surcharges (Dimension, Weight, or Packaging), only the one with the highest charge will apply.
FedEx reserves the right to assess Additional Handling charges for packages that require special handling or that require FedEx to apply additional packaging during transit.

Address-related surcharge
Address Correction – €9.20/shipment
Suppose a recipient’s address on an Air Bill, Air Waybill, Waybill, or shipping label is incomplete or incorrect. In that case, FedEx may attempt to find the correct address and complete delivery, and will assess a surcharge. If FedEx is unable to complete delivery, it is not liable for failing to meet the delivery commitment.
For FedEx International Broker Select, the address correction surcharge will apply if the broker’s address is incomplete or incorrect on the Air Waybill, Waybill, or other shipping documentation. If FedEx cannot determine the correct address or cannot reach the broker, it may attempt to contact the sender for address clarification or instructions to return the shipment. If FedEx is unable to complete delivery under these circumstances, it will not be liable for failing to meet the delivery commitment.

Extended Area, Oversize and Saturday Delivery
Extended Area Service (OPA/ODA)
Shipments picked up from or delivered to remote and less accessible locations are assessed an Out-of-Pick-up-Area (OPA) or Out-of-Delivery-Area (ODA) surcharge.

Oversize Charge – €55.20/package
An oversize charge applies to a package or piece that exceeds 243 centimetres in length or 330 centimetres in length and girth. Length and girth is length plus (two times the height) plus (two times the width).
Package shape and dimensions may change during transit, which can affect the package’s surcharge eligibility. If the dimensions change during transit, FedEx may make appropriate adjustments to the charges at any time.
Sales price: €55.20/package.
Saturday Delivery – €22.20/shipment
A surcharge might apply to a delivery performed on a Saturday. Service availability may vary according to the place of collection and destination.
When Saturday is a normal business day at the destination country/territory, Saturday Delivery does not have to be marked on the Air Waybill or Waybill, and the surcharge does not apply. Please contact Customer Service for details.

Demand surcharge
Demand Surcharge
During times of elevated shipping volumes, heightened demand for capacity, increased operating costs, and other strains on the FedEx network, FedEx may assess a Demand Surcharge.
The applicability, duration, and amount of the Demand Surcharge are determined for each region based on regular assessments of shipping volume and available capacity within the network and other considerations.

Where can I see these surcharges on my invoice?
Surcharges are applied by the carrier after the shipment has been processed and may not be visible when you create the label.
You can find these charges in your Sendcloud account via Account > Billing, where you can download your invoice in PDF or CSV format:
- PDF invoice: Shows a summary of your total costs, including surcharges.
- CSV invoice: Shows a detailed breakdown per shipment, including the tracking number, shipping cost, and any applied surcharges.
💡 Tip: Use the tracking number in the CSV to identify which shipment a surcharge applies to.
