Purpose: View the transport conditions of shipping carrier DHL so you can make an informed decision about which shipping method is best for you.

Note: it used to be possible to handover your DHLForYou (Letterbox) Drop-Off parcels at a Bpost service point in Belgium. However, in the past we've experienced some issues with this. Bpost sometimes processed the parcels themselves, because isn't obvious that the parcels need to be transferred to DHL. Because of this, we've decided to no longer offer this service. If you want to use DHLForYou (Letterbox) Drop-Off in Belgium, there's two options:

Schedule a DHL pick-up (read more here)
Handover parcels at one of the DHL sorting facilities

Keep in mind that you can technically still bring your DHL packages to a Bpost service point but we can't guarantee the shipping process is successful. If you decide to try anyway, it's at your own risk.

Shipping packages to consumers

DHLForYou (within the Netherlands)

Service Presentation

Delivery to private addresses within 24-48 hours. You can hand in your packages at a DHL parcel shop. For this you choose DHLForYou Drop-Off. With this method you ship under the same conditions as regular DHLForYou shipments. DHLForYou (without drop-off) can only be used in combination with a fixed collection. From 100 shipments per month you can request a fixed collection.

From 100 shipments per month you can request a fixed collection. It is also possible to schedule an incidental collection. Please note that you will be charged a pick-up fee if you hand over an average of less than 4 pick ups per collection at the end of the calendar month. In case you have a Lite plan or higher, you can also request an incidental collection.

DHLForYou with evening delivery (Netherlands only)

Service Presentation

This shipping method can be used when your customer isn't available during the day, or if they prefer to receive their parcel in the evening. The delivery time is between 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM. It's not possible to hand in your packages at a DHL parcel shop. This shipping method can only be used in combination with a collection. From 100 shipments per month you can request a fixed collection. If you don't reach the 100 parcels a month (yet), you can also schedule an incidental pickup. Please note that you will be charged a pick-up fee if you hand over an average of less than 4 pick ups per collection at the end of the calendar month. Click here to learn more about pickups. DHL Parcel Connect (within Europe)

Service Presentation

With the help of this service DHL delivers internationally to private addresses as well instead of just to business addresses, with the Europlus network. It depends on the country you ship to if you can ship to a parcel shop, use home delivery or a combination of both. You can hand in your packages at a DHL parcel shop. From 100 shipments per month you can request a fixed collection. It is also possible to schedule an incidental collection. Please note that you will be charged a pick-up fee if you hand over an average of less than 4 pick ups per collection at the end of the calendar month. In case you have a Lite plan or higher, you can also request an incidental collection.

Delivery at home or at a parcel shop
At least 1 delivery attempt (2nd attempt if requested by the recipient)

DHL Same Day is an express service for consumers in the Netherlands. Bring your shipments to your local sorting center before 11:00 at a Cityhub or before 13:30 at a Regiohub and they will be delivered the same evening*.

Recurring pickups for DHL Vandaag are available between 11:00 - 13:00h. However, there is a fee for pickups based on your volume:

1 - 50 per day: 15 euro per pick-up
50 - 150 per day: 7.50 euro per pick-up

Pallet shipments

Pallets can be used to send one or multiple shipments to one destination or to send multiple shipments to different destinations.

Pallet with one destination

When the entire pallet has to be sent to one destination, you'll need the shipping method DHL Europlus Pallet*. You use this method when you want to ship multiple packages (or one large package) to the same address. To make it clear that the entire pallet needs to be delivered at one address, dark foil is required.

Pallet with multiple destinations

When the content on the pallet has to be delivered to different addresses, you'll use one of DHL's non-pallet shipping methods (DHL parcel connect, DHL Europlus etc.). Every shipment needs its own label. It's important to wrap the pallet in clear foil, so the pallet won't be delivered as a whole at one address.

*The shipping method Europlus Pallet is not activated in your account by default. If you have a fixed pickup with DHL or if you use incidental pickups (Lite or higher) and would like to use this shipping method, please contact our customer support team.

Paperless returns

DHL also supports Paperless returns. This means that your customers no longer need to print their label. Instead, they can simply show the barcode they get via email at the service point. For more information, click here.

Claim procedure

Uninsured shipments

All DHL shipments are not insured as a standard. If you do not insure these shipments with the help of our Sendcloud Insurance, no claim can be submitted based on purchase - / sales value. In this case, you are only entitled to a kilo compensation (3.40 euros per kilo) when a shipment is declared missing by DHL.

To submit such a claim, we need the purchase and sales invoice including a content description. In addition, we need a proof of delivery. If a shipment has not been scanned by the carrier, the sender must be able to prove that the shipment has entered the carrier's network. This can be done through a handover receipt. Please note that the carrier may not accept the Sendcloud pickup report as official proof of shipment. In that case, the carrier may request camera footage or alternative additional evidence.

Please note: damage to a shipment must be reported to us within 7 days after delivery. On the other hand, DHL will unfortunately not handle the claim.
