Maersk contract activation

Purpose: Learn how to connect your own Maersk contract to your Sendcloud account and explore the available shipping options.

If you have your own contract with Maersk, you can connect it to your Sendcloud account and ship using the rates and conditions agreed upon directly with the carrier.

Note: Maersk contract activation is available for Sendcloud SaaS customers only.

Step 1: Activate your Sendcloud subscription

Sendcloud offers four subscriptions with which you can use your own carrier contract: Lite, Growth, Premium, and Pro.

For help choosing the plan that best fits your business, contact us via the support section of your Sendcloud account or compare Sendcloud plans and pricing.

Step 2: Enable your carrier contract

Once you have activated a Sendcloud subscription, you can connect your Maersk contract.

  1. In your Sendcloud account, go to Shipping > Carriers.
  2. Search for Maersk in the list of available carriers.
  3. Click Add contract.
  4. You're redirected to the contract activation page, where you can enter your Maersk account details.

Step 3: Enter your Maersk account details

To activate your Maersk contract, enter the following credentials provided by your Maersk representative:

  • API Key: Your Maersk API key, provided by your Maersk representative.
  • Secret: Your Maersk API secret, provided by your Maersk representative.

Next, configure the following contract settings according to your agreement with Maersk:

  • Customs Clearance Service: Select the customs clearance service agreed upon with your Maersk representative for international shipments.
  • Scheduled Pickups: Enable this option if you have an agreement with Maersk for pickups at your own facility.
    • If enabled: The sender address used in Sendcloud must match the address agreed upon with Maersk where pickups take place.
    • If disabled: The sender address in Sendcloud must match the agreed Maersk facility from which you ship.
  • Packaging Type: Select the packaging type agreed upon with your Maersk representative for your shipments.
  • I would like to use the alternate carrier available in the destination country: Enable this option if you want deliveries to be handled by an alternate carrier in the destination country, where available.
Important: Make sure your contract settings, particularly your pickup arrangement and sender address, match the conditions agreed upon with Maersk. If you're unsure which options to select, contact your Maersk representative for confirmation.

Finally, review your rates in the Rates section.

Once you've entered all the required details, click Complete to complete the activation.

Maersk shipping methods and service levels

The following table shows the available Maersk shipping methods in Sendcloud and their corresponding Maersk carrier service levels. The service level used may depend on the shipment destination, customs requirements, and whether an alternate carrier is selected.

If you've followed all the steps described above, your Maersk contract should now be successfully connected to Sendcloud. You can begin shipping using your Maersk rates. When you create a label with a Maersk shipping option, the label price will appear as 0.00 EUR in your account.
