Purpose: This article explains the surcharges that may apply when shipping with SEUR using Sendcloud rates.
Always enter the correct parcel weight, dimensions, recipient details, and customs information when creating a shipment. Incorrect or incomplete information may result in additional charges.
⛽ Energy surcharge
SEUR applies a variable energy surcharge to shipments.
Energy/fuel surcharge
The energy surcharge is variable and may change over time depending on fuel and energy market conditions.

📦 Parcel characteristics & handling
Additional charges may apply when a parcel requires special handling or does not meet SEUR's standard parcel specifications.
Non-conveyable parcel €1.50
A surcharge of €1.50 may apply when a parcel cannot be processed normally through SEUR's automated conveyor network.
Oversize parcel €99.00
A surcharge of €99.00 may apply to oversized shipments.
The supplied SEUR surcharge documentation identifies the following threshold:
- Weight above 40 kg, and/or
- Girth above 300 cm
International oversize surcharge €25.00
An international oversize surcharge of €25.00 may apply to SEUR Classic and SEUR Air Classic shipments when a single parcel exceeds the standard weight or dimension limits.
The surcharge applies when:
- The parcel exceeds 31.5 kg in actual or volumetric weight, and/or
- The combined girth exceeds 300 cm (
1 × length + 2 × width + 2 × height), and/or - The longest side exceeds 175 cm.
Non-stackable parcel €5.00
A surcharge of €5.00 may apply when a shipment cannot be safely stacked with other parcels during transport.
Multi-parcel B2C surcharge €0.10
For B2C multi-parcel shipments, an additional charge of €0.10 applies from the second parcel onwards.
Pallet surcharges
Pallet smaller than 100 × 120 cm €5.00
A surcharge of €5.00 may apply to pallets measuring less than 100 × 120 cm.
Pallet 100 × 120 cm or larger €49.00
A surcharge of €49.00 may apply to pallets measuring 100 × 120 cm or larger.
🚚 Delivery & additional service surcharges
Saturday delivery €5.00
Saturday delivery is available for an additional €5.00 per shipment.
Hard-copy Proof of Delivery €3.50
A charge of €3.50 applies when a physical copy of the Proof of Delivery (POD) is requested.
Wrong delivery address €0.50
A surcharge of €0.50 may apply when the delivery address provided for the shipment is incorrect.
Always verify the recipient's address before creating the shipping label.
Missing email address €0.20
A charge of €0.20 may apply when the recipient's email address is not provided.
Providing accurate recipient contact details also allows SEUR to send delivery notifications and delivery-management options.
SMS notification €0.15
An additional charge of €0.15 may apply for an SMS notification service.
AMZ / ECI deliveries €3.00
A surcharge of €3.00 applies when the final delivery destination is an Amazon (AMZ) fulfillment center or an El Corte Inglés (ECI) central warehouse.
The surcharge covers the specialized delivery and booking requirements associated with these locations, such as time-slot management, pallet restrictions, and prolonged waiting times.
📍 Location-based surcharges
Additional charges may apply when collecting or delivering parcels to areas that require additional transportation or handling.
Remote areas €3.00
A surcharge of €3.00 per shipment applies to both delivery and collection in designated remote areas.
Andorra €3.12
A location surcharge of €3.12 applies to deliveries to Andorra. The surcharge covers the operational costs associated with border crossing and customs entry procedures into the Principality.
Ceuta & Melilla €3.00
A location surcharge of €3.00 may apply to shipments involving Ceuta or Melilla.
Separate customs charges may also apply. See the Customs surcharges section below.
Formentera €7.98 + €0.25/kg
Shipments involving Formentera may incur:
- A fixed surcharge of €7.98, plus
- €0.25 per kg
Ibiza & Menorca €3.00
A surcharge of €3.00 may apply to shipments involving Ibiza or Menorca.
La Gomera & El Hierro €3.00
A surcharge of €3.00 may apply to shipments involving La Gomera or El Hierro.
Corsica, Sicily, Sardinia, Isle of Man & Channel Islands €20.00
For applicable international shipments to the following destinations, a surcharge of €20.00 may apply:
- Corsica
- Sicily
- Sardinia
- Isle of Man
- Channel Islands
📅 Seasonal & high-demand surcharges
Peak period management €0.50 per parcel
A peak-period surcharge of €0.50 per parcel applies between:
15 November - 15 January
The surcharge applies to home-delivery shipments during the year-end peak period.
The surcharge applies to all Sendcloud customers, regardless of shipment volume or whether a peak forecast has been submitted. The surcharge cannot currently be waived.
High-demand summer zones €0.99 / €2.99
A seasonal surcharge may apply to B2C home-delivery and return shipments sent to selected high-demand postcodes during the summer period.

🛃 Domestic customs surcharges
Certain Spanish territories and customs areas require additional customs processing. The following charges may therefore apply.
Export Melilla €17.37
A customs export charge of €17.37 may apply to shipments exported to or processed for Melilla.
Export Origin Ceuta €38.20
A customs export charge of €38.20 may apply when the shipment originates in Ceuta.
Export Origin Andorra €26.31
A customs export charge of €26.31 may apply when the shipment originates in Andorra.
Export Canary Islands by sea €22.00
A customs export charge of €22.00 may apply to applicable sea-freight shipments involving the Canary Islands.

🌍 International customs & clearance surcharges
The following charges apply to SEUR Classic and SEUR Air Classic shipments to applicable non-EU destinations.
Low-value export clearance €3.00 minimum
For exports with a declared value below €150, a customs clearance charge of at least €3.00 may apply.
High-value export clearance 2% of invoice value
For exports with a declared value above €150, the customs clearance charge may be calculated as 2% of the invoice value.
Low-value import clearance €3.00
A customs clearance charge of €3.00 may apply to B2C shipments originating from outside the EU with a declared invoice value of up to €150.
Incomplete documentation €5.00
A surcharge of €5.00 may apply when customs documentation is provided but is incomplete.
Always provide complete and accurate customs information when creating international shipments.
Missing documentation €10.00
A surcharge of €10.00 may apply when required customs documentation is missing.
Orange Circuit Documentary inspection €10.00
A charge of €10.00 may apply when a shipment is selected for a documentary customs inspection.
Red Circuit Physical inspection €30.00
A charge of €30.00 may apply when a shipment is selected for a physical customs inspection.
Security surcharge €0.40
A security surcharge of €0.40 per international shipment applies to applicable international services.
🚢 Sea freight surcharges
IMO tax €0.10/kg
An IMO-related surcharge of €0.10 per kg may apply to applicable sea-freight shipments.
Important notes
- Surcharge amounts are applied in addition to the standard shipping rate.
- Multiple surcharges may apply to the same shipment when several conditions are met.
- Always provide accurate parcel weight, dimensions, destination, and contact information.
- For international shipments, always provide complete and accurate customs documentation.
- SEUR may update surcharge amounts or applicable conditions over time.
