GLS Spain contract activation

Purpose: Learn how to connect your own GLS carrier contract with your Sendcloud account in three easy steps. 

Step 1: Activate your Sendcloud subscription 

Sendcloud offers three subscriptions with which you are able to use your own transport contract: Lite, Growth and Premium plan. 

A confirmation message will tell you that your subscription is activated. Make sure that you have activated direct debit beforehand - click here for help setting up payment via direct debit in your account. 

Step 2: Connect your GLS contract 

Once you have activated a Sendcloud subscription, you can connect your carrier contract. 

In your Sendcloud panel navigate to Shipping > Carriers. Then go to the My contracts tab and find GLS Spain. click Add your own contract. Here you can add the credentials needed to validate the connection to GLS. 

Step 3: Enter your GLS account details

Complete the form with the information below and click Add this contract when you are done.

Shipment creation

  • Contract name → You can give a name to the contract in Sendcloud, for example "My GLS Spain contract".
  • Client ID (Customer Number) → Customer number that can be obtained via your GLS sales advisor
  • UID Cliente → Secret that can be obtained via your GLS sales advisor.

Shop returns V3

  • App ID - Shop Returns Customer Plus API v3 
  • Client ID - Shop Returns Customer Plus API v3
  • Client Secret - Shop Returns Customer Plus API v3 

International returns

If you want to offer international returns with GLS, you also have to fill in the following:

  • PortalKey for International Returns service

Customs

The API Key and the API Secret are needed if you want to transfer customs data to GLS. To get your API Key and Secret, open the GLS developer portal, follow the “Get Started” instructions and enable the Customs API.

  • Customs API Key → It usually looks like this: Abc1dE2fgHi4JKLMn5oPuvw6XYz
  • Customs API Secret → It usually looks like this: 0A1b2Cd3eFG4hIj5
Note: It is important to ask your GLS sales advisor to create a web-API identifier specific to your account so that you can connect your contract to your Sendcloud account. If you cannot find any of the credentials above, please contact GLS.
Done! Once you've followed the steps above, your GLS Spain contract should now be successfully linked to your Sendcloud platform and you can begin shipping on your GLS Spain rates. When you create a label with a GLS Spain shipping method, the label price will now show as 0.00 EUR in your account.
