Blackout in Spain (28-04-2025) – Potential Impact on Your Operations

Purpose: To inform you about the ongoing power outage in Spain and its potential effects on your business operations.

What's happening?

As of April 28th, 2025, widespread blackouts have been reported across parts of Spain. These outages may affect daily logistics processes, particularly parcel handling and delivery.

We understand the challenges this may cause and appreciate your patience as the situation develops.

Current Operational Impact

We are actively monitoring the situation and have received the following updates:

  • Parcel information delays: Some carriers, especially Correos Express, are having trouble accessing parcel data.

  • Delivery and pickup disruptions: Expect general delays due to infrastructure issues caused by the outage.

  • Service points and lockers: Many are currently offline or experiencing limited availability.

  • Affected regions: Power remains unstable in several areas, continuing to disrupt normal operations.

  • Tracking updates: You may notice delays in parcel status visibility.

Carrier updates

We’ve compiled the latest carrier communications below.

If your carrier isn’t listed, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re unaffected — it may simply mean they haven’t provided an official update yet.
Correos/Correos Express/InPost

Persistent issues with the electrical supply continue to affect certain specific delivery units. Information is still being collected for a more detailed assessment.

Operations at distribution centers have resumed, and provincial delivery routes departed normally this morning. A general distribution rollout is expected to proceed as scheduled, although this remains subject to the availability of electrical supply in the affected areas.
Systems have remained operational with no outages. However, some delivery events may be missing from the system due to earlier connectivity issues. These events are expected to be recorded once the connection is fully restored.

The CEX system remains inaccessible. They are currently experiencing severe telecommunications problems, so contacting them by phone is not useful, as they are unable to access their systems on their end.

Label generation appears to be functioning normally in most cases. However, label creation for service points may trigger system errors. We recommend waiting 24 hours or choosing an alternative shipping method in the meantime.

Please note that service points and lockers in several areas are still affected, as the system has not yet fully recovered.

Additionally, there are numerous delays due to fuel shortages and lingering power issues, particularly in Catalonia, where electricity recovery has been slower than expected.
