Purpose: Learn how to connect your own Cainiao carrier contract with your Sendcloud account in three easy steps.
Step 1: Activate Your Sendcloud Subscription
Sendcloud offers three subscription plans that allow you to use your own transport contract: Lite, Growth, and Premium.

Step 2: Enable Your Carrier Contract
Once you have activated a Sendcloud subscription, you can connect your carrier contract.
- In your Sendcloud panel, navigate to Shipping > Carriers > My contracts and click Add your own contract.
- Find Cainiao in the list and click Add contract.
- Enter the credentials needed to validate the connection to the carrier.
Step 3: Enter Your Cainiao Contract Information
To activate your Cainiao contract, fill in the following fields and click Add this contract:
- Contract name (optional): A custom name used to identify this contract throughout the platform (e.g., "My Cainiao Contract").
- Cainiao ID: The credentials for contract activation are provided by your Cainiao account.
Requested action when parcel is undeliverable (this will apply to all shipments created using this contract) (optional): Choose what should happen if a shipment cannot be delivered. This setting applies to all shipments created using this contract:
Return shipment to sender (default)
Return shipment to Cainiao hub or sorting center
Destroy shipment
This option can be useful for low-value goods where return costs exceed the value of the shipment.

If you have followed the steps described above, your Cainiao contract should now be successfully linked to your Sendcloud platform, and you can begin shipping using your Cainiao rates. When you create a label with a Cainiao shipping method, the label price will now show as 0.00 EUR in your account.
