DB Schenker own contract activation

Purpose: Learn how to connect your own DB Schenker carrier contract with your Sendcloud account in three easy steps.

Step 1: Activate your Sendcloud subscription

Sendcloud offers three subscription plans allowing you to use your carrier contract: Lite, Growth, and Premium.

Step 2: Enable your DB Schenker contract

You can connect your DB Schenker contract once you have activated a compatible Sendcloud subscription.

  1. In your Sendcloud panel, navigate to Shipping > Carriers > My contracts and click Add your own contract.
  2. Find DB Schenker in the list and click Add contract.
  3. Enter the required credentials to validate the connection to the carrier.

Step 3: Enter your DB Schenker contract information

To activate your DB Schenker contract, fill in the following fields and click Add this contract:

  • Contract name (optional): A custom name used to identify this contract throughout the platform.
  • Group ID: Provided by your eSchenker account.
  • Access key: Provided by your eSchenker account.
  • Address ID (optional): Provided by your eSchenker account.
  • Packing type: Select the type of packaging you use for your DB Schenker shipments. If you use more than one packaging type, add a separate DB Schenker contract for each.
  • Pickup from hour: Enter the earliest pickup time in hh:mm format (for example: 07:00).
  • Pickup to hour: Enter the latest pickup time in hh:mm format (for example: 15:00).
  • Test/sandbox environment: French customers must first validate their setup with DB Schenker. Enable this option to connect to the pre-production (test) environment.
  • Trigger Pallet Option (France only): Enable this option if you want to activate the pallet workflow. This setting is only applicable for French customers.
Note: You can find the required credentials in the DB Schenker portal.

Important note: When creating a label with DB Schenker, the parcel dimensions (length, width, and height) are mandatory in Sendcloud. This information is required to calculate the loading meters, a field required by DB Schenker. Without dimensions entered, label creation will be blocked.

If you have followed the steps above, your DB Schenker contract should now be successfully linked to your Sendcloud platform, and you can start shipping at your own DB Schenker rates. When you create a label with a DB Schenker shipping method, the label price will display as 0.00 EUR in your account.
