Step 1: Activate your Sendcloud subscription
Sendcloud offers three subscriptions with which you are able to use your own transport contract: Lite, Growth and the Premium plan.
For more information regarding which plan is best for you and the needs of your business, you can always contact us via the support section of your Sendcloud account or click here.
Step 2: Enable your carrier contract
Once you have activated a Sendcloud subscription, you can connect your carrier contract.
In your Sendcloud panel navigate to Shipping > Carriers. Go to the My contracts tab and find PostNL Extra@Home from the list. Click Add contract. Here you can add the credentials needed to validate the connection to PostNL.
Step 3: Generate the API key
To generate the API key needed to authenticate the connection to Sendcloud, go to the API Manager in your My PostNL environment and log in with your email address and password. Click on your name in the top right corner and then go to My account.
When you scroll down on the page, you should see the heading "Manage API¹". Here you can find some of the information you need to enter into Sendcloud.
There is no API key yet:
If no API key is ready yet, you can request it here by clicking Create New Key. Select External software and then Sendcloud in the dropdown. Finally, select in the bottom selection menu that you are using the same software to create shipping labels.
Go to Manage API again to find the information for in your Sendcloud account. Here you will see type of software Sendcloud.
Step 4: Enter your PostNL contract details
Navigate back to Sendcloud from the PostNL environment. Complete the form with the information below and click "Save" when you are done.
-
API Key (password)
If you already have an API key for PostNL parcels, you can use this same key for Extra@Home.
Alternatively, if you do not have an API key yet, or if you prefer a separate API key for this customer number, you can request it through the API management module in the My PostNL business portal (see step 3). -
Customer Code
If you use the same customer code (and customer number) as for your PostNL parcels, only the Extra@Home product codes need to be set up in your panel.
If you prefer a separate customer code specifically for Extra@Home orders, PostNL can add this to your existing API key. To request this, please email eh-logistiek@postnl.nl. -
Globalpack Customer Code (optional)
This is optional. If you do not have a Globalpack customer code, it is not necessary to fill this in.
-
Customer number
If you use the same customer number (and customer cod) as for your PostNL parcels, only the Extra@Home product codes need to be set up in your panel.
If you prefer a separate customer number specifically for Extra@Home orders, PostNL can add this to your existing API key. To request this, please email eh-logistiek@postnl.nl.
Done! Once you've followed the steps above, your PostNL Extra@Home contract should now be successfully linked to your Sendcloud platform, and you can begin shipping on your PostNL rates. When you create a label with a PostNL shipping method, the label price will now show as 0.00 EUR in your account.
