How to request Sendcloud rates to start shipping with GLS
In order to ship with GLS Italy at Sendcloud prices, open a support ticket from your Sendcloud panel and provide the information below. Our support agents will then contact GLS and arrange this for you. The carrier will then set up an account for you, as well as schedule a recurring pickup. Once your account is active, you will receive your credentials by email. Read the section How to use the GLS portal to know more.
Activation can take up to 3-5 days. Please note that if you submit your request during the last three days of the month, GLS may experience delays in handling it.
Necessary information to ship with GLS Italy at Sencloud rates and schedule a recurring pickup
Please provide our Support team with the following details, including the information regarding collections:- Company name
- Pickup address, including postal code and city
- Name of the contact person
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Type of shipments (envelope/package, etc.)
- Average weight of the parcels
- Average size of the parcels
- Average number of parcels per day
- Start date
- Weekly frequency (indicate days)
How to use the GLS portal
Access to GLS portal
Upon activation, GLS will send you an email with the necessary credentials to access the GLS portal. The sender of this email will be either noreply@gls-italy.com or WW@gls-italy.com. The subject will be "Nuovo Profilo Sito GLS". If you can't find the email in your inbox, check your spam folder.
To log into your GLS customer portal, enter the username, password and depot shared by the carrier.
What can you do on the GLS online portal?
- Provide instructions to release parcels that are on hold
- Download Proofs of Delivery (POD)
- Book an incidental pickup --> Please note that by booking an incidental pickup via the GLS portal you accept that Sendcloud will have no visibility into the status of the pickup. In case of issues like delays or no-shows, contact GLS Italy directly.
What can you not do on the GLS online portal?
- Create shipping labels
- Open claims for delivery issues, and request refunds
- Have access to invoices or other contract information --> You can check your invoices from your Sendcloud panel in Settings > Financial.
