InPost Italy shipping conditions

Purpose: To inform you about the shipping services of InPost Italy and their conditions for shipping to or from lockers within Italy.

Important: It's mandatory to add an Italian mobile phone number when creating your InPost Italy shipping label. This applies both to the sender's address and the recipient's delivery address.

Shipping Methods (National)

InPost Italy - Address to Locker

You can use this method for Locker deliveries. This gives your customers the freedom to pick up their parcel at a time that suits them.

Delivery is available at an InPost locker or InPost Point in Italy.

• The parcel will be held for 3 days at the locker. If not collected, it will be returned to the sender, and new shipping costs will apply.
• This service is only available with recurring pick-ups.
• The sender's warehouse must be located in a supported ZIP code area.
• The service is available from the Lite subscription.
• Activation must be requested through Customer Support or your dedicated account manager.
• A minimum of 10 parcels per pickup applies when shipping to pickup points, or 25 parcels per pickup when shipping to home addresses.

InPost Italy - Locker to Locker

You can use this method for Locker deliveries. Parcels can be handed over and shipped at a locker or at an InPost Point. It's not possible to use this method in combination with a pick-up.

• This shipping method is available from the Free plan.
• Delivery is available at an InPost locker in Italy.
• The parcel will be held for 3 days at the locker. If not collected, it will be returned to the sender, and new shipping costs will apply.

InPost Global - Home Delivery (2Home)

Important: To use the 2Home services, you must select InPost Global as the carrier in your Sendcloud panel. These services are not available under InPost Italy.

The 2Home service allows you to deliver parcels directly to your customers' home addresses within Italy. You can ship either using a pickup from your warehouse or by dropping off your parcel at an InPost service point. These methods are only available for supported postal codes.

• Delivery days: Monday - Saturday.
• Estimated delivery time: 48–72 hours (may vary depending on the postal code).
• Tracking available.
• 2 delivery attempts included.
• If delivery is unsuccessful after the second attempt, the parcel is redirected to the nearest InPost locker or service point.
• The parcel will be held for 3 days at the pickup point. If not collected, it will be returned to the sender, and a new shipment cost will apply.
• Minimum pickup volume: 25 parcels per pickup.
• Only recurring pickups are supported; no incidental pickups.
• Pickup requests must be arranged via Customer Support or your account manager.
• Maximum weight: 25 kg.
• Maximum dimensions stated in the existing Help Center article: 64 cm length × 38 cm width × 41 cm height.

Shipping Methods (International)

InPost Italy - Address to Locker (International)

This method allows you to ship parcels from Italy to lockers in selected EU countries. This service is ideal for offering convenience to customers who prefer collecting parcels from a locker at their preferred time.

• Only available with recurring pick-ups.
• Available from the Lite plan and above.
• A direct contract with the carrier is required.

InPost Italy - Locker to Locker (International)

This method enables international shipments from an InPost Locker or Point in Italy directly to a locker in another EU country. It's a flexible option for cross-border deliveries without requiring pick-up services.

Return Shipping Methods (National)

InPost Italy - Returns

Important: The return service is available only for merchants with an active InPost Italy pickup service. Without an active pickup, returns cannot be delivered to the merchant's address.

The end customer can drop off their return parcel at an InPost locker or InPost Point in Italy. The parcel will be delivered to the merchant's return address (warehouse).

How to activate InPost Italy returns

To use InPost Italy return methods, you must have an active InPost Italy pickup service.

• If your Address to Locker service has already been approved: Contact our Customer Support team to request activation of the return methods. No additional information is required.
• If you don't have an approved pickup service: Contact our Customer Support team and provide the required information listed in the Pick-ups section.

If you only use InPost Italy return methods, a minimum of 10 parcels per return delivery applies. Customers must drop off their return parcels at an InPost locker or InPost Point; courier pickup from the customer's address is not included.

A direct contract with the carrier is required for the following international return methods.

Pick-ups

If you're interested in a recurring pick-up, you can reach out to our Customer Support team. Please prepare the required information in advance to make sure your request can be handled as quickly as possible.

There is a minimum of 10 parcels per pickup when shipping to pickup points, or 25 parcels per pickup when shipping to home addresses. Recurring pick-ups are only available to users with a Lite, Growth or Premium Sendcloud subscription.

Pick-ups are available for the following regions: List of ZIP codes.

• InPost will approve or reject the request.
• The list may be subject to change.

Required information

• Company/Name
• Pick-up/return address (complete)
• Contact person
• Telephone number
• Email address
• Approximate number of parcels to be collected/returned (minimum 10 parcels)
• Weekly frequency (indicate days)
• Time slot
• Type (envelope/package/etc.)
• Approximate weight of parcels
• Approximate size of parcels

Pick-ups only take place on weekdays (Monday - Friday). If a pick-up didn't take place, InPost will automatically come by the following workday.

Important: It is mandatory to print 2 copies of the pick-up report: hand a copy to the driver who picks up your package and ask him to sign another copy for you.

Drop-offs

Parcels using Locker to Locker methods can be handed over at an InPost locker or InPost Point. It's not possible to use these methods in combination with a pick-up.

End customers can drop off national return parcels at an InPost locker or InPost Point in Italy.

InPost Global Point to Door and Point to Point methods use drop-off as their first-mile service.

Claims Process

If you're experiencing trouble with your shipment, please create a support ticket. You can do so by going to Support > Submit a request for a shipment.

Compensation policy

InPost Italy doesn't have standard insurance. Claims are therefore based on 1 EUR per kg.

Carrier insurance is marked as unavailable for the InPost Global shipping methods listed in this article.

Surcharges

Failure to comply with the agreed transport conditions of InPost Italy may result in you receiving a surcharge. When you ship with InPost Italy, you automatically agree to these conditions.

Label Updates & Cancellation

Understanding the ins and outs of label validity, updates, and cancellations helps in managing your shipments efficiently, avoid unexpected costs, and keep your shipping process hassle-free.

Label update

Address change:

• Parcel not yet shipped: you can easily correct the address by cancelling the original label and creating a new one. Using the "Duplicate" feature can simplify this process.
  • Steps to Cancel a Shipment or Label:
    1. Go to the Created Labels overview and select the shipment(s) you wish to cancel.
    2. In the dropdown menu (next to "Print label"), click "Cancel."
    3. Confirm the cancellation. The label will automatically move to the "Cancelled" tab.
  • Steps to Duplicate a Label (for creating a new one with corrections):
    1. Edit the original label in your panel by clicking on the eye icon next to it.
    2. Select the "Edit new label" option from the dropdown menu of the "Actions" button.
    3. Modify the data you need to change (e.g., the address).
    4. Confirm the label creation.
    5. You will find the new label in the "Created Labels" tab.
• Parcel Has Already Been Shipped: You will need to contact our Customer Service department directly. They will be able to assist you with the process for an address correction in transit.
