Surcharge for over-weight shipments |
To ensure fair and accurate pricing, it’s essential that the weight and dimensions of each parcel are correctly declared when booking a shipment. If there’s a mismatch between the declared and actual details, we will apply the following charges: What Happens if You Declare the Wrong Weight or Size? If a parcel is booked with incorrect weight or dimensions, we will apply:
Examples
What's the Difference Between a Packet and a Parcel? A packet is a small, lightweight shipment, typically under 1kg and compact in size, often fitting through a letterbox. A parcel, on the other hand, is larger or heavier, requiring different handling and a higher shipping rate. Accurate classification is important: if an item booked as a packet turns out to be a parcel, you’ll be charged the difference in cost plus a relabelling fee. Always check size and weight limits to avoid unexpected surcharges. From Evri's T&C:
|
£6.70 | ||||||||||
Surcharge for shipments within weight range but heavier than declared | This surcharge applies when the declared parcel weight is lower than the actual weight. You’ll be charged the rate difference plus an extra fee. | Rate difference + £0.95 | ||||||||||
Surcharge Outside of maximum allowed dimensions |
If parcel is booked stating incorrect weight category or / and incorrect dimensions, we will charge re-labelling fee + difference between the rate already charged based on pre-advice and the rate that should be applied based on actual weight / dimension. As example, if label booked stating packet is 400g, but then we find it to be 3kg, we will charge re-labelling + difference between packet and parcel. If parcel is booked stating 3kg, but found to be 17kg, we will charge re-labelling + difference between parcel and L&L rate. From Evri's T&C: “It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure that it has accurately declared the weights and/or dimensions of the Parcels in the pre-advice file (or other documentation as agreed between the Parties). Where Evri identifies Non-Compliant Parcels, Evri will charge the Client (and the Client shall pay to Evri upon demand) in respect of each Non-Compliant Parcel the difference between the applicable Rate of the actual weight and/or dimensions of the Parcel and the Rate of the declared weight and/or dimensions of the Parcel on the pre-advice file. Evri may charge the Client per Non-Compliant Parcel for the costs and expenses of identifying and correcting the correcting the Non-Compliant Parcel.” Presume some users may find the wording in our T&Cs to be complicated, therefore feel free to rephrase. |
