Purpose: this article describes what the shipping method "Unstamped letter'' is and how you can use it.
What is an "unstamped letter"?
In addition to prepaid labels, we also have regular address labels, or unstamped labels. This shipping option is, as the name suggests, not stamped and therefore has no value. You will have to frank these labels yourself via a franking machine Xor with stamps. If you do not do this, you will receive a postage card from the carrier afterwards, on which they determine the costs for the shipment.
Only postal carriers can send letters, e.g. PostNL, Royal Mail, etc. Commercial carriers such as UPS do not support letter post.
Test labels
Because this type of shipping method has no value, you can use it if you want to create a test parcel. No shipping costs will be invoiced; you will only be charged a processing fee. After 60 hours, the parcel will automatically be marked as delivered and moved to the Shipped labels tab.
Store pickups
The unstamped letter method could also be used for orders that are being picked up in your store. If your order doesn't require an actual shipping label but you do want to remove the order from your incoming order overview, you can create it with the unstamped letter method. Keep in mind that a tracking email might still be sent to your customer.
How do I select this shipping method?
In your incoming order overview, select the pen icon to edit an order. In the shipping method field, select "unstamped letter" from the dropdown menu.
