For technical reasons, Sendcloud will use a different entity to sign the SSL certificate.
Previously https://letsencrypt.org/ was used to sign all of our SSL certificates but as of 09-01-2024 AWS Certificate Authority will be used instead.
What does that mean for you?
As per the best industry practice, we don’t recommend whitelisting certificates but if you, as a customer of Sendcloud, whitelist our certificate to improve security, you will be affected by this change.
We then ask you to take action beforehand and import the available AWS Root certificates for a seamless migration, so there is no impact on the service because of the change. Follow the steps below:
- All the certificates can be found at the following link: https://www.amazontrust.com/repository/
- Navigate to the section Certification Authorities
- You will then find all the information related to the Root certificates that Amazon provides
See the table section containing different URLs - Download the 5 different certificates, in PEM format preferably. If your system needs a different format, download the DER format.
- Import them into your preferred system
Downloading the 5 different certificates is very important as Amazon also rotates, for security reasons, the authorities behind the signed certificate issued to Sendcloud.
