Poste Italiane Crono International Delivery
Ship to over 200 countries worldwide across a support network of 700,000 foreign post offices for parcel collection
Service Description
- Parcel delivery service for international shipments from Italy
Service Characteristics:
- Delivery to the recipient's home or t o the foreign post office through the Fermoposta or PO Box service in the countries qualified for the service. To find the list of countries where the service is not available, consult the product sheet ( Allegato 5, p. 13 - countries not qualified for Fermoposta, p. 14 - countries not qualified for PO box) .
- Number of delivery attempts are subjected to country of destination. Please consult the following document for further information about shipping conditions per Country. In case of absence of the recipient, a notice of non-delivery is left in the recipient's mailbox on which the date and time of the delivery attempt are reported, the office where the shipment is in holding, and the deadline for collection.
- Monday-Friday service, except national and regional holidays.
- Undelivered parcels are kept free of charge by foreign postal operators for an average of 15 natural days. At the end of the on-hold period parcel is returned to sender and surcharges may apply. To remove an on-hold parcel please contact the toll-free number 800.160.000, and the parcel will be released for free.
- The delivery is done by the local postal carrier of the country of destination.

Only applicable for shipments outside the European Union.
Poste Italiane is part of the Universal Postal service:
- Print 3 copies of the CN23 (customs declaration): On Sendcloud go to Created orders > Click on the eye icon > Actions > Download Customs declaration
- Print 3 copies of the purchase invoice from your webshop
- Place all 6 copies inside an envelope, and place the envelope outside the parcel.
When shipping outside the EU it is mandatory to have a VAT and EORI number as a sender.

- Crono Express: 1-2 working days from first parcel scan by the carrier.

- Delivery times within Europe: 3 working days (for some postal codes of Norway and Portugal 3-5 days), in addition to the pick-up day (excluding customs formalities for non-EU Countries).
- Rest of the world: 3-5 working days, in addition to the pick-up day (excluding customs formalities for non-EU Countries)
Pick-ups
You can always plan a pickup from your pickup address (ground floor only) via your Sendcloud platform. Drop-offs are not possible. Click here for more information.
Each parcel must present a label with all the necessary shipping information. Sendcloud is not responsible for any consequence arising from a missing, incomplete, or incorrect indication of the required shipping information.
To check the status of a pickup booked with Poste Italiane, you can use the tracking page of the SDA portal by entering the pickup booking code in the "Ritiri" field (the pickup booking code can be found under the Tracking number column of the Pickups section, on the Sendcloud panel).
Surcharges
Please note that parcels that cannot be delivered for the reasons listed below will be returned to the sender at full cost (original delivery + return shipping cost).

In the event that the address of your customer is incomplete, a surcharge of 5.05€ fixed + 3.55€ to communicate the new address will be applied, if the address is not communicated after 3 days the parcel will be returned back at the cost of the shipment
Explanation of surcharges

Recipient absent: 2 delivery attempts + 10 days of storage included in the price. After 10 days, the shipment is sent back to the sender at the cost of shipping.

Delivery address incomplete: No other shipping is included in the price. A storage file is opened at a cost of 5.05€ which can be released at a cost of 3.55€ by reporting the correct address. If the new address is not reported within 3 days, the shipment will be returned to the sender at the cost of shipping or abandoned.
- After these three days, if there's no further indication from the sender, the parcel will be returned or abandoned *3
- Parcels in which the maximum weight or dimensions are exceeded will be returned to the sender undelivered. The maximum dimensions allowed for standard shipments are: length 100 cm and sum of the three sides 150 cm. In the case of bulky parcels the maximum dimensions allowed are: length 150 cm and sum of the three sides 220 cm. If the parcel falls into this second case, the cost of shipping is double that of standard shipping with the same weight. *4

Note: Label prices are determined by the actual parcel weight range: 0-2kg, 2-5kg, 5-10kg, 10-20kg and 20-30kg. Parcels that exceed the maximum weight and dimensions will be returned to the sender undelivered, and the sender will be charged for both the delivery and the return expenses.
Restricted contents
- When shipping a parcel with Poste Italiane via Sendcloud, you agree not to send any goods prohibited by law or subject to a national/international transport ban.
- The shipments of goods considered/classified as "dangerous" is strictly prohibited.
- Poste Italiane can refuse to transport goods considered to be dangerous or which pose human/material risk.
- The shipment of the following goods is prohibited: War material or equivalent, weapons, precious metals, currency, precious stones and jewels, stamps, human beings or animals, living insects, funeral ashes and relics, organs , food and frozen products, antiques, art, paintings and all the other products listed in the European Agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road.
Claim requirements

- National shipments with Poste Italiane have a standard coverage of 1.00€ per kg (tax not included) in case of loss, damage, or delivered but not received
- International shipments with Poste Italiane have the following coverage in case of loss, damage, or delivered but not received:
- Via Land 8,33 SDR (CMR) = 10,25€ per kilo
- Via air 17 SDR (Warsaw Convention) = 20,91€ per kilo
- 1 SDR = 1,23€ (2021 conversation rate)
- For damaged parcels recipients must refuse the parcel or accept it under reserve. The damage needs to be visible on the exterior of the packaging. If this is not done a damaged claim cannot be processed.
- Poste Italiane calculates the refund amount on the grams, they do not round up the kilos. Example: If parcel is 500 grs, the refund amount would be:
- 0,50 kg x 1€ = 0,50€
- 0,50 kg x 10,25€ = 5,13€
- 0,50 kg x 20,91€ = 10,46€
- Poste is not responsible for suspensions of the service/ delays due to reasons of force majeure, such as any event or cause not directly imputable to Poste (e.g. armed robbery, public authority measures, wars, revolutions, insurrections, civil unrest, strikes, or other industrial disputes, lockouts or embargo, power supply interruptions, floods, natural disasters, pandemics).

Scope of Service
Unless any special services are agreed and subject to these terms, the service to be provided by Poste Italiane is limited to the collection, transportation, customs clearance where applicable, and delivery of the shipment. The sender acknowledges that shipments will be consolidated with those of other shippers for transport and that Poste Italiane may not monitor the inbound and outbound movement of individual
shipments at all handling centers.
Delivery
Poste Italiane may deliver a parcel to the person whose name is on the label or any other person that seems to be authorized to accept the parcel on behalf of the recipient (such as people in the same building or their neighbors). If the recipient cannot be located, the parcel might be placed at the mailbox or, if it is considered appropriate, delivered to the recipient's neighbor. The recipient will be informed of any alternative delivery (or the Postal Office or PuntoPoste address) via a note left on their establishment or home.
