What is DHL ForYou 2.0
DHL ForYou 2.0 is the updated version of DHLForYou. The migration to 2.0 will happen over the course of 2023, up to April 2024. With 2.0, the shipping costs will be based on the (volumetric) weight. The highest one out of the two (actual- or volumetric weight) applies. This means that instead of having one flat price for all parcels up to 23 kg, there will be a price per type of package (S, M, L, XL or XXL).

Why DHL ForYou 2.0?
With DHL ForYou 2.0 you pay for what you actually shipping, instead of paying a flat fee. This means that when you ship smaller, lighter packages you can benefit from cheaper pricing.
Why use the volumetric weight?
Carrier research shows that half of the packages shipped are composed of air. This results in an unnecessary amount of empty space being transported. When we manage to reduce this empty space, we create additional logistics capacity - directly reduce CO2 emissions - and thus our impact on the environment.
How can I calculate the volume of my parcel?
Fill in the formula with dimensions of your parcel and you have the volume weight: length x width x height / 1000 = volume weight. The highest value, volume- or actual weight, determines the package category.
What happens when I select the wrong size?
When you select the wrong package when creating the label, you will see a correction on a later invoice. Instead of receiving a surcharge, you will be charged the difference between the package size you selected and the actual size of your package.

Getting started with DHL ForYou 2.0
Like mentioned at the start of this article, users are being migrated up until April 2024. If you are interested in DHLForYou 2.0, please reach out to our Customer Support. We can then make sure to start the process for you.
When starting with DHL ForYou 2.0, it is important to note that it is mandatory to add your parcel dimensions when you create a label. Without these dimensions the label cannot be created.
Can I automate my parcel dimensions?
Yes, you can use our Boxes feature to help automate your shipping process. This feature offers the possibility to add default boxes to your Sendcloud account, that you can then select for your orders.
