Different drop-off and delivery days apply around the holidays. What is different exactly? 

We will do our very best to deliver your parcels on time, including on national holidays. You can help us by dropping off your parcels on time. Please keep the following adjusted drop-off and delivery days and deadlines in mind.

📌 Update received on 23-11-2023 - Christmas Last Posting Dates 2023

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year and our drivers will be working hard to deliver every parcel in time for Christmas. For delivery by Christmas Day in the UK, the last posting dates are: 

• Next day services: Thursday 21 December
• Two-day services: Wednesday 20 December

Saturday service is available for our next-day services on Friday 22 December and our two-day on Thursday 21 December.

📌 Update received on 04-12-2023 - Weather Alert
A yellow warning for ice across Northern England, the Midlands, Northern Wales, and Eastern Scotland is in place until midday today.

Weather Impact 

In areas of heavy snow, depots processing and courier deliveries have been impacted. 

The disruption in Tyneside to the snow is returning to normal service level with only small delays expected in Seaham, Gateshead, and Sunderland. 

In Cumbria, the police declared a major incident because of the snow and have urged people not to travel which will impact our courier deliveries in the area. 

Delivery Promise Adjustment 

Please be aware that we have adjusted the delivery promise to some of our localised courier services. These changes will be implemented today to take effect tomorrow. 

Ensure you are using the most recent version of the Evri POS file - we recommend doing this daily over our peak period. 

The postcodes areas impacted by a 24h delay are listed below:

📌 Update received on 30-11-203 - Partial building collapse in Kingswinford industrial fire

About 60 firefighters have been tackling a large blaze at an industrial unit which has caused parts of the building to collapse.

This morning at 04:00 a fire broke out in the Pensnett Trading Estate in Kingswinford, near Dudley.

Within an hour, ten fire services were in response and the area has been restricted for access.

Unfortunately, our Delivery Unit (DU) for the local area is within the restricted area and as such we have around 11,000 parcels currently inaccessible within the unit which we are unable to deliver at present.

Contingency Plan:
Our operations team reacted swiftly and have enacted our contingency plan in region with any volumes, after the incident became known, being diverted to our previous Birmingham Depot site and this will be used for the foreseeable future to protect service and ensure your customers receive all their orders with as little disruption as possible. Today we have already diverted 3,000 parcels due to be delivered to the affected DU into our alternative location.

SLA Impact:
At present we are unaware when access to the Kingswinford DU will be granted - as soon as we know this we will update you accordingly.

Next Steps:
The remaining parcels will stay our DU until we are instructed by the Fire Service we can access the site, at which point these will be moved to our contingency site for processing for delivery ASAP.

The affected barcodes are being consolidated and any impacted barcodes will be shared by your client manager.

We ask you inform your customers of these delays and await an update on when we are able to access the site and deliver these parcels.

📌 Update received on 08-11-2023 - Christmas Promise
Recommended Christmas cut off dates for shipping:

Non-delivery days are;
25th December,
26th December,
1st January,
2nd January (Scotland only)

Bank holiday collection charges are applicable on;
26th December & 1st January

Additional charge per collection is £695 per trailer and £100 for van collections.

📌 Update received on 08-09-2023 - (Other) changes during the holiday season
Whilst the big day might be a few months away you might be thinking about securing those all-important posting delivery slots.

Tuesday 19th December This is the last day our couriers will be collecting from customers. Tuesday 19th December at Noon is the last time for Standard Collection and Delivery from ParcelShops.

Thursday 21st December Noon This is the last time for Next Day Collection and Delivery from ParcelShops.

Friday 22nd December to Wednesday 27th December Evri ParcelShops may be open for customers to drop off and collect parcels. However, parcels dropped off between these dates won’t be collected until Wednesday 27th December.

Sunday 31st January to Monday 1st January Evri Couriers will not be working over this period however some ParcelShops may be open for collections and deliveries.

Tuesday 2nd January Normal operating service resumes.

Public holidays
In 2023, Bpost will be closed on 10 public holidays. On these days, no parcels, letters, or newspapers will be distributed, and all post offices, pick-up points, and MassPost centers will be closed. See the list of those days below:

Changes to post office operation
On the following days, post office services will be unavailable on the following days:

• Distribution of letters.
• Delivery of parcels, magazines, and newspapers.
• Post points, parcel points, and parcel lockers remain open.
• Sorting centres and MassPost centers remain open.
• Collect & Send, Collect & Stamp, and transport services collect your shipments from you as agreed.

Changes to letter distribution services
On the following days, no distribution of letters will be provided:

• Post offices, parcel lockers, post points, and parcel points remain open.
• Delivery of parcels, magazines, and newspapers.
• Distribution of death notices.
• Collect & Send, Collect & Stamp, and transport services collect shipments as agreed.
• Sorting centres and MassPost centers remain open.

If you want your package to reach the recipient in time for Christmas Day, you should send it before 20 December.

• Shipments entrusted on 21 December (48h delivery services) will be delivered starting 27 December

• Shipments entrusted on 22 December (24h delivery services) will be delivered starting 27 December
• Shipments entrusted on 28 December (48h and 24h delivery services) will be delivered starting 2 January 2024
• Shipments entrusted on 29 December (24h delivery services) will be delivered starting 2 January 2024

During the Christmas season, Poste Italiane will continue to provide its services to ensure customer satisfaction. However, they are adapting their operations.

If you want your package to reach the recipient in time for Christmas Day, you should send it by 20 December at the latest.

• Shipments entrusted on Dec. 22 will go on delivery starting Dec. 27 according to the timing of the chosen service.

• Shipments entrusted on 29.12 will go for delivery starting 2.1.2024 according to the timing of the chosen service.

• Shipments departing on 21.12 with 48h leg will go for delivery from 27.12.

• Shipments with 48h leg leaving on 28.12, will go for delivery from 2.1.2024.

During the peak season, DPD France is confident that there will be no major issues on transport services.

However, some pickup parcel shops might be full due to a higher volume of parcels. If the pickup point chosen by the end customer is full, DPD will automatically reroute it to another available parcel shop.

If you want your package to reach the recipient in time for Christmas Day, you should ship it before 18 December 2023.

Note: Packages picked up on December 29 will be shipped on January 2 and delivered on January 3.

Contract activation during peak season

If you want to start shipping with DPD France at Sendcloud rates, keep in mind that it will take the carrier longer to process the request in December. DPD France advises against opening an account between 22 December 2023 and 2 January 2024.

Our teams work until the day before each public holiday, until the time when heavy goods vehicles are banned from the roads (22:00).

Opening times on special dates

See below a summary of the opening times on special dates: 

• The hubs in Alcalá de Henares and Vilanova i la Geltrú will open on 26 November, 6 and 8 December, for clients to drop off their parcels.
• The agencies in Asturias, Benavente, Bilbao, Extremadura, Málaga, Murcia, Sevilla, Valencia and Zaragoza will open on 2,9 and 16 December and on 13 January for clients to drop off their parcels.

These are the GLS delivery deadlines for shipments with delivery by Christmas 2023:

• Parcel shipments within Germany: December 20th, 12 p.m. in a GLS ParcelShop or a GLS ParcelStation
• Parcel shipments to neighboring EU countries: December 19th, 12 p.m. in a GLS ParcelShop or a GLS ParcelStation
• Parcel shipments to all other EU countries: December 18th, 12 p.m. in a GLS ParcelShop or a GLS ParcelStation
• Parcel shipments worldwide: December 15th, 12 p.m. in a GLS ParcelShop or a GLS ParcelStation
