Purpose: learn how to process a store pick-up via Sendcloud.
You might offer your customers the option to come pick-up their order in the store. Sendcloud doesn't differentiate between regular shipments and shipments that the customer picks up at your store. Instead, all orders are being imported. When you delete an order in Sendcloud, it automatically returns in the incoming overview after the next order fetch. This means that deleting those orders isn't the solution and store pick-ups need another way of processing.
Unstamped letter
The unstamped letter shipping option could be used for orders that are being picked up in your store. If your order doesn't require an actual shipping label, but you do want to remove the order from your incoming order overview, you can create it with the unstamped letter option. Keep in mind that a tracking email might still be sent to your customer.
Turn off tracking emails and set up automations
If you have tracking emails turned on in Sendcloud, your customer will receive an email upon label creation, even if it's a store pick-up. It's likely that you might want to turn off tracking emails, specifically for store pick-ups but not for your other orders.
This process can only be automated for users with Lite plan and up. If you have an Free plan, please read the Free plan description below. Other wise follow the process at Lite and up.
Free plan
If you have an Free Sendcloud plan, you don't have access to shipping rules. This means that the following process is manual. If you don't want to send tracking emails for store pick-up orders, you can simply remove the customer's email address from the order details. This way, no tracking email can be sent to your customer.
- Go to the Incoming order overview
- Click on the pencil behind the order
- Remove the email address
Lite and up
This option is mainly relevant for users with a Lite Plan and up as it involves shipping rules. Shipping rules are not available through the Free plan.
- Create a new shipping rule at Settings > Shipping rules.
- Give the shipping rule a name For example: "Store pick-ups"
- Add a condition like 'If Checkout delivery option contains Store pick-up'
- Add the following two actions:
- Ship with Unstamped letter
- Set customer email noreply@test.nl
