Purpose: See how address information is captured and formatted in Sendcloud.
Address formatting
Every country has its own unique address format.
Sendcloud supports two different address formats, which vary depending on the carrier.
Sendcloud will determine how to format your address based on your carrier selection. This allows us to send address details to the shipping carrier based on their required format to make sure shipment data and labels can be processed correctly.
If you decide to switch to a different carrier by editing the order in the incoming order overview, the address format will be adapted accordingly. This is all done automatically. In case Sendcloud's logic is not able to detect the house number correctly after a change, contact our support team for help.
Supported address formats
Format 1: split
With this format, the street and the house number are split into two fields.
Street: Insulindelaan
House number: 115
Format 2: merge
If the carrier does not accept Format 1, Sendcloud will automatically merge the fields into a new single generic address field called Address 1 that looks like this:
Address 1: Insulindelaan 115
