Purpose: Learn how to offer service point delivery to your customers in your Lightspeed checkout, whether it's the legacy version or the upgraded checkout page.
Step 1: Activate service points in Sendcloud
To activate service points in your Sendcloud panel, follow these instructions:
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Find your Lightspeed integration in the list and click Configure
- Check the box Service points to activate this type of delivery
- Select the carriers that you want to work with
- Click Save when done.
Step 2: Enable service point delivery in Lightspeed
To configure service points in your Lightspeed backend, follow these steps:
- From the home menu of your Lightspeed backend, click Setting > Shipping Methods
- Click the Add manual shipping method button
- Select Default shipping and click Continue
-
Choose a title for your shipping method. If you are using the Legacy checkout, please note that the following titles are mandatory so that the map is correctly displayed at checkout:
- "service point delivery" in English
- "servicepunt levering" in Dutch
- "paketshop zustellung" in German
- "livraison en point relais" in French
- "recogida en un punto de servicio" in Spanish
- Fill out the following information
- Add a shipping rate
- Select a country or zone for which this shipping method will apply
- Add a tax rate
- Define the visibility of the shipping method
- Click Save when done.
Step 3: Set up the new checkout page (optional)
You can offer service point delivery on the new checkout page. To enable the new checkout page, follow the instructions:
- Go to the homepage of your Lightspeed backend and click the section Checkout
- If you haven't enabled the new checkout yet, you will see the button Upgrade checkout
- Click Upgrade Checkout
- Go back to the homepage and click Settings > Shipping Methods
- Click on the name of the shipping method that you created in Step 2 of this article
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and under Visibility, enable the option Hide from customers at checkout to avoid having duplicated shipping methods on your checkout page
Note: If you want to make the shipping method entirely invalid, you must additionally rename it without the words "service point delivery" (in english or any other language). Example: rename it "Service Point express delivery".
- Click Save when done.
How the service point delivery option looks like on your checkout page
How your customers see the option to choose a service point will depend on the checkout that you have configured. With the new checkout page, your customers will see a list of the closest service points to the delivery address. If you still use the legacy version instead, your customers will see a map with the closest service points on your checkout page.

Note: Some carriers, like bpost and PostNL for instance, have their own checkout modules in Lighstpeed that allow service point shipping. If you want to offer service point delivery through Sendcloud, you have to use the Sendcloud implementation and not that of the carrier.
